I was born and raised in the beautiful country of Holland. Holland is known for its tulips, lush waterways and incredible dutch horses as KWPN and Friesian horses. At the young age of 5 I was already passionately riding; and at 13 I had the opportunity to start riding at an affluent Friesian breeder. This gave me the opportunity to ride and compete on many different Friesian horses of all ages and levels. After 10 years of competition and training I was able to travel to Canada to continue my career with the beautiful Friesian horse. My specialty had become dressage and preparation for the keuring or (dutch inspection) a highly competitive and specialized style of training.
Later, I spent a year in France with Rob de Bruin. Rob is considered to be one of the best and most coveted horse handlers in the world. I learned many valuable trade secrets from Rob including; proper marketing and pairing of horse and rider as well as many new approaches to preparation for the keuring. I took a brief hiatus from training and riding professionally to pursue a career in fashion. I spent several years as a district manager for a European clothing brand stemming from Germany. With the experience gained, I began my own clothing shop in Holland. Although successful; it never replaced the dream and passion I had for the horses.
It was then that opportunity and destiny stepped in. I was offered a position in the state of Nevada with the largest Friesian breeder in North America. I was able to bring my extensive experience in the breed to the training, sales and keuring preparation program. After my 2 year work Visa ended, I returned to Holland but, I knew at that time I wanted to begin a program in the beautiful western United States. Luckily in 2020 I was able to return to the USA and hand in hand with my husband, we are now realizing the dream of our own training and sales barn in the spectacular Sierra Nevada region. The birth of MY Select Sport horses is one of hard work, passion and dedication to Europe’s most select breeds.
SALES
My Select sport horses is the place to find quality sport horses. We select horses of only the highest caliber, spanning all ages, training levels and budgets. Many of the horses are imported from Holland but, we also bring horses commonly from Spain and Germany as well.
Our priority is to offer impeccable sport horses, with excellent minds and movements. All horses are approved by world renowned veterinary staff of the highest standards.

TRAINING
We are happy to offer training at our horse facility in Gardnerville. We specialize in well rounded, happy, forward horses from the very first ride to 4th level of dressage competition.
The most important standard is your horses overall well being and success. We feel our calm consistent program keeps horses happy, healthy and great partners.

KEURING PREPARATION
Friesians are a breed of incredible history. One of the traditions of the breed is that each year the specially selected Dutch judges travel across America to inspect horses of certain age/level. This is essential for maintaining a high breed standard.
These inspections, besides being essential, exciting and educational, require a specific type of training and conditioning to attend.
